Another advantage of removing the plastic channel is
that I discovered water underneath. Obviously, the source of the fogging in the
first place! This was cleaned up prior to sealing the window in place. Once the
channel was cleaned, I thoroughly cleaned the glass, inside and out. I used a
single edged razor blade (buy lots!) to get all the gunk off of the edges of the
glass.
